This 2-story concrete framed building suffered a fire on the mezzanine floor on 19th of September 2008. The building is the fire station of one of volunteer organization of Iloilo City, Federation Fire. The fire started at approximately 8:45 P.M. in the mezzanine floor and spread through the entire bedroom of their watchman.   It was later learned that he went out at 8:00 P. M. to buy food for dinner.  After 15 minutes he asked his wife and children to go to one of the volunteer firefighter’s house to have dinner there.  They left without turning off the electric fan in their room.  Sparked from the over heated electric fan spread beside their foamed bed and fire loose broke fast.  The quick respond of firefighters saved the whole building from burning.  The Bureau of Fire Protection Region 6 on arrival found a very intense fire. It was immediately known that the fire was spreading the whole bedroom of mezzanine floor.   No one was injured during the incident, but the loss was estimated at over PHP 108,000.00.
